Guide

Match suppliers and parts to a documented design rather than choosing by catalog category alone.

Choose the supplier type for the project

Specialist loudspeaker catalogs cover drivers, crossover parts, enclosures, kits, amplifier modules, and repair components.

General component distributors expose electrical and mechanical filters, while maker-oriented suppliers document playback and microcontroller-oriented modules.

  • Use the project brief to decide whether loudspeaker parts, component attributes, or embedded integration is the primary need.
  • Check the manufacturer's datasheet or manual for every candidate part.

Verify compatibility before ordering or assembly

Compare impedance, supply voltage, output power, connector or pinout, dimensions, enclosure assumptions, and crossover requirements against the design.

Drivers, crossovers, and enclosures form a matched design problem; a nominal impedance or frequency range alone does not establish compatibility.

  • Follow the component manufacturer's assembly and safety instructions.
  • Use appropriate insulation, ventilation, eye protection, and qualified assistance for mains-powered or electrically uncertain work.
